Constitution Island Tactical

(Subject to change)

30 August 2009

Background.....

In late October 1780, it is discovered that a second conspirator has given plans of the

fortifications at West Point and Constitution Island to the British Commanders in New

York. The Crown forces, in an attempt to revisit the strategy of severing the New

England Colonies from the remaining colonies, are going to send a reconnaissance in

force up the Hudson Valley to probe the defenses of West Point and Constitution Island.

A combined force of Loyalist, Ranger and Light Infantry units will reconnoiter the

defenses and if advantageous, carry the defenses on Constitution Island which are

believed to be in disrepair and under-strengthed.

Game plan....

Forces will split and become Crown/Continental Forces

Tactical to start after specific time and end 30 – 45 minutes before public arrives

Whole or specific side of island to be used (TBD)

Crown Forces objective to either take the fortifications (specific redoubt) or force

the Continental Forces to leave the fortifications to engage them and/or take

prisoners to get more detailed information on troop strengths

Continental Forces must decide to either act on information received that Crown

forces are planning a raid/reconnaissance of the island and ambush them or wait

in their fortifications and repulse an attack by the Crown Forces

Teams/Forces will be divided equally

Crown forces to wear small clothes or frocks

Continental Forces to wear regimentals

Each man can only carry one box of rounds

All units participating in weekends activities are invited to participate
